Your first multi-speaker session

Before you begin

Use an activated PairChord desktop installation and at least two compatible outputs connected through your operating system. Begin at a comfortable listening volume. Public installer availability is separate from these instructions.

Step by step

1. Pair Bluetooth speakers or connect wired, USB, or HDMI outputs in your operating system. Confirm that each output works there first.
2. Open Control in PairChord. Choose a supported source: System audio, an available application, or test audio.
3. Select the additional available outputs you want to hear. On Windows, the direct default output is the system-audio reference and cannot be selected to route audio back into itself.
4. Click Start routing, then play your source. Use each output’s playing, muted, or waiting state to understand its activity.
5. Listen for timing differences. Use Calibration or, during supported Windows system-audio routing, Auto Optimize.

Check the result

Your selected compatible outputs play the chosen source. You can add or remove available outputs during routing without manually stopping the session.

If something goes wrong

If an output is missing, reconnect it through the OS. If it is waiting for audio, check the source and mute state. A connected device is not necessarily playing. Different devices may still need manual timing adjustments.
