Create and apply an EQ preset
Shape a five-band curve, save it, and apply it to a routed output.

Before you begin
Use a comfortable playback level. EQ changes affect routed audio, not the direct Windows default-output path.
Step by step
- Open EQ presets. Explore the twelve built-in presets or use Create custom preset.
- Name your custom preset and adjust the bands at 80 Hz, 250 Hz, 1 kHz, 4 kHz, and 12 kHz.
- Set gains between −12 dB and +12 dB in 0.5 dB steps, then save. You can return to edit a saved custom preset.
- Return to Control, open the output’s Device settings, and select your built-in or custom preset.
Check the result
The chosen routed output uses the saved curve. Presets are PairChord’s original five-band curves, not a claim to reproduce FxSound algorithms.
If something goes wrong
Saving a curve alone does not choose it for every output. Check the selected preset on the intended route. Reduce gain or volume if playback sounds harsh; an EQ boost cannot repair distortion already in the source.
