Control your audio from a browser

Before you begin

PairChord must be running on the computer that plays the audio. Connect the browser device to the same trusted private LAN. Sharing uses unencrypted HTTP: never use public Wi-Fi, port forwarding, or an internet tunnel.

Step by step

1. Open Phone remote control in desktop Settings. Set a dedicated 6–12 digit PIN or a 10–128 character password that is not all digits. Do not reuse an account password.
2. Choose the port and the separate signed-in access and total sharing durations. Each can be 1 minute to 24 hours; login access cannot outlast sharing.
3. Acknowledge the unencrypted-HTTP warning and start sharing.
4. Open the exact displayed LAN URL in your phone, tablet, or another computer’s browser, then enter the PIN/password. The loopback address is only for the host computer.
5. Control routing, master volume/mute, output selection, and supported per-output volume/mute/delay. Source selection, EQ editing, and sharing configuration remain on the desktop.
6. Stop sharing from desktop Settings to revoke all remote logins without stopping the music.

Check the result

The browser controls PairChord on the computer. Audio remains on its outputs; this does not stream audio to the phone and needs no companion app.

If something goes wrong

Sharing expires and remains off after app restart. If the address is rejected or unreachable, use the current displayed URL, check sharing expiry and network isolation, and review private-network firewall permissions without disabling protection. A PIN/password does not encrypt HTTP traffic.
