Can different speakers play audio from different apps?

On compatible Windows builds, open an output’s Device settings on Control and choose its application audio source. For example, one output can use a music app while another uses a chat app. Start the source app and refresh the running-application list if needed. Capture depends on Windows support, permissions, and the source app; macOS does not offer the same per-output application assignment capability.

Can I choose an individual Chrome tab?

Not reliably. PairChord identifies running application sources by process, but Chrome tabs and windows can share audio processes. Multiple Chrome processes do not guarantee independently selectable tabs. Choose the available application source rather than assuming each browser tab is a separate output.

What do master volume and each speaker’s controls affect?

Master controls affect PairChord-routed audio. Each routed output also has its own volume, mute, delay, balance, channel mode, and EQ settings. Supported Windows default-output volume and mute controls affect that system endpoint; EQ, balance, and added delay do not intercept its direct playback path.

Where do I create and apply an EQ preset?

Open EQ presets to create a named five-band curve, edit a saved custom preset, or explore the twelve built-in presets. Apply a preset from each routed output’s Device settings on Control. The built-ins are PairChord’s own curves, not a claim to reproduce FxSound processing.

Can I save my favorite speaker combinations?

Yes. In Groups, name a group and choose its ordered output members. Select that group from Control for future sessions. Saved membership does not pair or reconnect a speaker: unavailable devices still need to be connected through your operating system.
